So I decided to create a blog about my experiences as I prepare for vet school mostly because I have not found a lot of personal accounts of people getting ready for vet school. Also, since I am so busy I am hoping this blog will keep my family and friends updated on what is going on in my life.
That was the why, now for a little bit about who I am. I am a 27 year old college student with dreams of becoming a veterinarian. Wow, that sounds kind of pathetic. Be that as it may, that is who I am. I am married with a very supportive husband and two "kids," one feline and one equine. I just finished my sophomore year of my undergraduate studies and that means that in about one year I will be applying to vet schools. This summer I am going to focus on getting more veterinary shadowing experience and applying for some scholarships (Yay! Free money!) as well as spending quality time riding and showing my horse. So, provided that I actually keep this updated I will be sharing those experiences. Here are some pictures of my kids, the first is Pikachu my beloved cat. I have had him since the day he was born and he is truly the light of my life. He has a heart condition and I almost lost him last year, he has since made an amazing recovery and I hope to have him for many years.
This is Sparky, his full name is Sparks Will Fly. He just turned 8 and is an Arabian-QH cross. Sparks is a spunky little guy who has a big personality. He is quick in spite of his relatively small stature. He can be a pain but whenever he sees me coming his ears perk up and he lets out a nicker that just melts my heart.
